The recently held New York Indian Film festival made Rishi Kapoor a happy man… His movie ‘Do Dooni Chaar’ was critically acclaimed and received well by Bollywood movie buffs in our country. But the movie seems to have pleased not just Indians. Rishi Kapoor was chosen as the winner for Best Actor category in the New York Indian Film Festival, 2011.

Rishi Kapoor was overwhelmed by joy at this event held at the Jemeirah Essex House. He thanked the audiences and jury and expressed that he is really glad as usually only commercial movies’ heroes are recognized for this category. He dedicated his success to the cast and crew of ‘Do Dooni Chaar.’

Who said that Kapoor was the only happy man at the event? Konkana Sen was awarded as the winner for Best Actress category for her performance in Bengali film, ‘Iti Mrinalini.’ While Aparna Sen bagged the Best Director award, Mohan Raghavan’s Malayala film ‘T.D. Dasan Std VI B’ was awarded under the Best Screenplay category.

We wish these stars our hearty congratulations and are looking forward to our Indian films being recognized more internationally…
